Mrs. Kellye from Virtual Arkansas came to dissect sheep hearts with students who are in the Human Anatomy class. They were in groups of three. They learned about the different valves and veins. They all received participation points and a few of them received extra points for answering questions. This is her second year to come and teach a dissecting class with the students. It was a great experience. Thank you Mrs. Kellye!

We would like to congratulate Kurtis Martin on placing in the top 20 at the United Welding Institute's High School Welding Competition. He also received an extra $500 Scholarship individually on top of the $1,000 Scholarship that is given to every student.

Mrs. Melanie Martin's computer programming class is currently studying problem-solving as it relates to computer science. In this lesson, students worked in groups to design paper towers that could stand as high as possible. Groups worked two rounds to work on their towers, with the goal of trying to go higher than they did in Round 1. It was a fun and collaborative introduction to this unit! They will continue to use these open-ended and creative problem-solving strategies throughout the rest of the spring semester!
